Training for schools and settings, covering areas such as CPI, Communication methods, Speech and language activities.

Siobhan has experience of visiting settings across the city, to offer outreach support. This process includes modelling different interventions and strategies to support IEP and EHCP provision, in all areas of need with a specialism in communication and interaction.

Dene has many years of experience in supporting children with challenging behaviours. He is able to advise and demonstrate trauma informed strategies to teaching and support staff. The SPaCE team are passionate about empowering staff and parents to support their children for the best outcomes.

Observation and feedback for students with EHCPs in a mainstream setting.

In-house support, with our staff working side by side with your staff. We can offer whole staff training sessions after school, support in a specific class with teaching staff. A member of our team can observe the whole class dynamic or just one student. Any written feedback will then be accompanied by practical help and support. This could include creating speech and language resources, modelling and demonstrating strategies and interventions that have been detailed in the child’s EHCP, as well as advice on how to put into practice information from professionals, such as speech and language and occupational therapists.

Environment audits, where our team can advise you on how best to adapt your classroom space to meet the needs of all the children inclusively.

The SPaCE team have been trained and have vast experience in using a range of strategies and interventions to support communication and interaction, including TEACCH, PECS, Elklan and Attention Autism. In a mainstream setting it can be challenging to provide an environment that supports the additional needs of some students, whilst also being a successful learning environment for all of  the students in a class. Our team can advise staff and support them to adapt their learning space, to meet the needs of all the children.
